Miley Cyrus and her performance at VMAs 2013

It seems like only yesterday — OK, it was only yesterday, that the biggest question about the the MTV Video Music Awards was whether *NSYNC would appear.
Though the venerable 90′s boy-band did indeed grace the stage during Justin Timberlake’s medley performance, the “Bye Bye Bye” revival has been overshadowed by a very different act from the Aug. 25 show – Miley Cyrus’ performance of her dance hit “We Can’t Stop” and her duet with Robin Thicke on his “Blurred Lines.” Though much of the set merely expanded on imagery from the songs’ music videos, it was enough to drive the online conversation for much longer than is usual for a few minutes of a cable-TV awards show.

Miley Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus brought her best twerking outfit for her eye popping performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The controversial singer sang her hit We Can’t Stop and duetted with Robin Thicke for summer tune “Blurred Lines”.
Miley wore nude PVC hot pants and boob tube which was more revealing than anyone could have ever expected, to be quite honest.
Add to this a giant teddy bear and we’ve got ourselves one of the most risky performances of the night.

There’s a lot to say about Miley Cyrus’ provacative booty-shaking, twerk-heavy MTV Video Music Awards performance from Sunday night. This was one performance that won’t be forgotten very quickly. This after Cyrus gave Robin Thicke a lap dance, paraded around with dancing bears, twerked her butt off and grabbed her crotch a few times. Not to mention the tongue. We saw a lot of that.
Thicke’s mother, Gloria Loring, told OMG! Insider: “I don’t understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do. I think she’s misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial.” She added: “I didn’t get what her point was. It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself.”
Lance Bass also spoke about the performance, noting that his nieces and nephews tuned in to MTV to watch him perform with *NSYNC. “I didn’t know I had to warn them that their little Hannah Montana was going to be naked and humping a finger” – Bass said during an interview on Sirius/XM. “I think it’s her thing. I think she shocked a lot of her younger fans, especially the parents, who might not be so happy with her thing, and she’s just being Miley.”
