Gavin Degraw hospitalized in New York
Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw is recovering after being attacked by a group of men on a city street.
Police say DeGraw suffered a broken nose and a cut to his face after he was beaten up by “unknown male attackers” early Sunday morning in the East Village. An investigation is ongoing.
A statement sent out by his spokesman Monday night says he was taken to Bellevue Hospital in an ambulance and is still hospitalized under observation.
DeGraw has been forced to cancel a planned concert Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
DeGraw has a new album (“Sweeter”) due out in September. He’s probably best known for his hit song “Chariot.”

Rock musician and singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw remained hospitalized in New York Monday after he was assaulted by several people Sunday night – TMZ reported.
The celebrity news Web site did not report what prompted the attack or exactly where it took place. It also did not describe the extent of the 34-year-old performer’s injuries or whether any arrests had been made.
The New York City resident’s publicist told TMZ he was still under observation at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.
DeGraw has been touring with Train and Maroon 5 and was scheduled to perform Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
DeGraw is known for his songs: “Chariot,” “Follow Through,” “I Don’t Want to Be”, “In Love with a Girl.”

According to TMZ – DeGraw was “outnumbered by several people” during the attack.
The New York Daily News are reporting that the Degraw was then hit by a cab after the attack, although was not seriously injured in the accident.
A representative for the star said he is still under observation in Bellevue Hospital tonight after being taken there by ambulance.
He is said to be in “stable condition”.
The cause of the attack, which occurred in the city’s East Village, is unknown. A representative for the 34-year-old DeGraw issued a statement saying: “Gavin DeGraw was assaulted late Sunday night and taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation.”
The singer most famous for his song “I Don’t Want To Be” selected as the theme song for drama “One Tree Hill”, has been forced to cancel upcoming concert on Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, New York.
