Tyler Clementi, an 18-year-old freshman, was a gifted violinist, a quiet young man who kept things to himself. Sadly and tragically, his life was cut short. Clementi’s roommate, freshman Dharun Ravi, and another student, Molly Wei recorded a private moment between Clementi and another man, uploaded the video to the internet, sharing the intimate and private life of Clementi.
In great distress at this becoming knowledge to the world, Clementi took his own life, jumping off the George Washington bridge into the Hudson River.
Before Clementi’ suicide, he left a message on the gay community message board two days after finding the video online.
‘He … saw me making out with a guy,’ – the message reads. ‘The school (probably) won’t do much of anything.’
Clementi attempted to speak to an adviser at his college, however what was actually done about this is unknown.

Intenet has become the cause of suicide these days. The entire generation is growing up on the web and anything published there becomes the main part of ones lifestyle. Recently, a Rutgers student committed suicide after Jumping off the George Washington bridge after his sexual acts was broadcast on Internet by his roommates.
18-year-old Tyler Clementi became the victim of his roommate Dharun Ravi, a Rutgers freshman, who has been charged with privacy invasion by the police. Fellow freshman Molly Wei and Dharun Ravi left a spy camera in Clementi’s room. The two faces five years of imprisonment each. Both are 18 years old.
Clementi was a virtuoso violinist who had the talent to ‘blow audiences away’ with his music. His body has not yet been found, but the police had found Clementi’s wallet, car, computer and cell phone inside nearby.

Ellen DeGeneres is speaking out about the suicide death of a Rutgers University student who took his own life after a roomate allegedly streamed footage of him having sex with another male student online.
‘I am devastated over the death of 18-year-old Tyler Clementi,’ – the gay talk show host says in a video commentary. ‘He was outed as being gay on the Internet and he killed himself. One life lost in this senseless way is tragic. This needs to be a wake-up call to everyone that teenage bullying and teasing is an epidemic in this country and the death rate is climbing. We have an obligation to stop this.’
