Zachary Quinto – gay or not
With New York Comic Con happening this weekend, there is no better time for Zachary Quinto to do a book signing in the city!
Zachary will be signing copies of ‘Mr. Murder Is Dead’ with writer Victor Quinaz and artist Brent Schoonover tonight, Saturday, October 15, from 8 to 10pm at St. Marks Comics, 11 Saint Marks Place, East Village, NYC.
The graphic novel is the first project from the partnership between Zachary Quinto’s Before The Door Pictures and the publisher, Archaia.
‘Mr. Murder Is Dead’ was created by Victor Quinaz – a New York-based writer and longtime friend of Zachary, Corey, and Neal from their days together at Carnegie Mellon.
The novel is described as “a throwback to the great staples of noir & pulp, while at the same time examining the real-life ramifications of our characters’ choices.”
Zachary Quinto.
It has been revealed that Zachary Quinto has come clean about his sexual orientation and admitted in a recent interview that he is gay. Gay New York City entertainment writer Mark Harris took to Twitter to disclose that actor Zachary Quinto has come out in the latest issue of New York Magazine.
34-year-old American actor (Zachary Quinto) is best known for playing Sylar on the NBC popular show ‘Heroes’ and playing Spock in the 2009 ‘Star Trek’ remake. Quinto, of half-Irish, half-Italian descent, has come out of the closet in the upcoming issue of New York magazine.
Mark Harris, an editor at the tabloid, tweeted: “Congratulations to Zachary Quinto, out and proud in the new issue of New York magazine.”
Zachary Quinto, who in the past was romantically linked to Rumer Willis and Hayden Panettiere, played a gay character on the VH1 sitcom ‘So NoTORIous,’ and will also play a gay man in Ryan Murphy’s FX series ‘American Horror Story.’
Just a year ago, when the New York Times asked Zachary Quinto about Internet rumors regarding his sexuality, the ‘Angels in America’ star told the paper – “I’m grateful that celebrity or notoriety wasn’t thrust upon me when I was in my 20s, because I think I would have buckled under the weight of it, as so many people do, but I’ve come to realize through experience that ultimately I really do have a lot of power in terms of the way I relate to the public or to people outside of my intimate circle of friends and family. Boundaries are very important to me.”
He went on to say: “The fact that these things are such hot-button issues right now, socially and politically, I would much rather talk about that than talk about who I sleep with. I would love to be a voice in this maelstrom of chaos and obsessive celebrity infatuation that says,:’let’s talk about something that matters.’”
Zachary Quinto has yet to make a comment about the news on Twitter or his official website. the actor has always provided a positive, supportive voice about important issues such as anti-gay bullying, gay marriage, and “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
While we know that Star Trek XII is heading into production in early 2012, we’re kind in the dark about the true nature of the film. We’ve been trying to stay away from the rumor mill and focus on hard facts about the next installment of the JJ-verse. We do, however enjoy hearing from the stars of Star Trek XI and Zachary Quinto is no exception. He recently sat down with the Orlando Sentinel to discuss his upcoming movie Margin Call and of course the topic quickly switched to his role as everyone’s favorite pointy eared Vulcan… No, no…Sybok.
During the interview, Zachary talks about the opportunities that his role in Star Trek provides: “Starting my production company is something that ‘Star Trek’ allowed me to do, I could utilize that exposure and parlay it into opportunities that would allow me to tell my own kind of stories instead of stories other people see me in. It’s all tied into Star Trek. It put me in a position to have access that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I wanted to use that access to tell my own sorts of stories, with me involved in telling them.”
When asked about the upcoming sequel, Star Trek XII, Zachary states – “I’m starting to shift into that mode of preparation, I have physical training and other ways of prepping for it. None of us have seen the script. We’re all very curious to see where he’s taking us this time. We’re going on rumors, little hints here and there, stories we’ve been told.”
