Brooke Mueller arrested

What’s next for Brooke Mueller, besides her Colorado District court date on December 19?
Mueller, the 34-year-old ex-wife of Charlie Sheen was arrested Friday night in Aspen for cocaine possession and assault, a spokeswoman for the Aspen Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE.
But while the court will ultimately decide what is to become of Mueller, a source close to her tells PEOPLE – “Brooke can’t stay sober on her own.”
The source adds – “Maybe this [arrest] will force her to go into a treatment center for a long stay. Thirty-day rehabs won’t work for her.
“Her family has been trying to get her to do this, now maybe the court will force her to get the help she needs! She has enough family to take care of the kids while she’s away.”
Mueller’s rep, Steve Honig, told PEOPLE on Saturday – “We are declining comment.”
He later said – “I think anyone who is truly a friend of Brooke’s would not be spending their time talking anonymously and behind her back to the media. I seriously question the validity of any comments made by these people alleging to be friends with Brooke.”

Former Charlie Sheen wife and mother of two Brooke Mueller has had a rough weekend. The thirty-four year old was arrested in Aspen, Colorado on Friday night after she reportedly assaulted another woman. Police also found cocaine in her possession which is a felony. Considering her history of rehab stints and run-ins with the law, the two charges could potentially cost Mueller her freedom and her children.
Celebrities, like everyone else, are entitled to a few mistakes. Most people go through a period of questionable decision making in their twenties. Some even extent the good time into their thirties, but at some point, you need to grow up, if not for yourself, for your children. Five months ago, Mueller got out of rehab and went to Mexico to celebrate sobriety with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen. Since the trip, the former “Two And A Half Men” star has been on quite the upswing, selling projects and behaving graciously to the media. Unfortunately, it seems that momentum did not extend to his ex-wife.
Mueller and Sheen have two toddlers who obviously need love and attention. It’s likely they’ll be deprived of their mother’s affection, at least for a short while. But if the strikes keep piling up, the pair could eventually lose their mother for more than just a short burst. I sincerely hope Brooke gets her act together, but every bad night she has makes me question her dedication to sobriety a little bit more.
What do you think? Is this what she needed to finally end the party lifestyle, or are their more problems in her future? Sound off by voting in the poll below…

Brooke Mueller (ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen) was arrested shortly after midnight Saturday at an Aspen nightclub on suspicion of assault and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
At approximately 11:32 p.m. Friday, Aspen Police Department officers were doing a routine walk-through at Belly Up Aspen when a woman reported that an assault had taken place. Police said a woman identified the culprit as Mueller, whom police found shortly after midnight at the dance club Escobar.
Mueller (34) of Los Angeles, faces a class-four felony charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and third-degree assault, a class-one misdemeanor, police said.
Formal charges won’t be filed until a later date, said Chief Deputy Assistant District Attorney Arnold Mordkin.
“It is alleged that she had in excess of 4 grams of cocaine, gross weight” – he said, declining to discuss details of the arrest.
Police also would not release details of the assault that allegedly happened at Belly Up, where a Sublime tribute band was performing at a sold-out show.
“We’re going to be talking to witnesses (Saturday) …” said Aspen police spokeswoman Blair Weyer.
She also said police will try to obtain security footage of the alleged assault at Belly Up.
Arresting officer Jeff Fain could not be reached for comment Saturday.
Mueller was released after posting $11,000 bond and ordered to appear in Pitkin County District Court on Dec. 19. Mueller’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, had no comment, saying he was waiting for more information.
Mordkin is no stranger to the publicity surrounding Sheen and Mueller. On Christmas Day in 2009, Sheen was arrested in Aspen following an alleged domestic dispute with Mueller. Mordkin prosecuted Sheen for the assault on his ex-wife.
“She’s obviously a person who attracts a lot of media attention, and we will handle this case just like we handle all cases” – Mordkin said. “She’ll get treated like we treat everybody else.”
