Is Inspectah Deck dead?
The 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards took place on Tuesday, October 12. One of the things that came out of the award show is a rumor that Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck is dead.
So is Inspectah Deck Dead? Uh, no. By all accounts, Inspectah Deck is alive and well. While Wikipedia is hardly the final word on such matters, there is no reference on the Inspectah Deck Wikipedia page about his death. There are also no reports from major media sources about the death of Inspectah Deck.
So how did the Inspectah Deck death rumor get started? Here’s what seems to have happened. During Raekwon’s performance at the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards, the fellow Wu-Tang member said: “Yo stop the music Premier…yo rest in peace my brother from the Wu, Inspectah Deck.”
Information about Inspectah Deck,Jason Hunter, better known by his stage name Inspectah Deck, American rapper, record producer and member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Although he did not receive the same level of the main successes in his solo career, as some of his Wu-Tang colleagues (eg, Ghostface Killah and Method Man), he gained critical praise for his complex lyricism, and his poems on many of the most revered songs. Born July 6, 1970, Hunter regularly mentions Park Hill Projects in Clifton, Staten Island, where he grew up, going to school with the future of Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah.
From a musical family, his father died when he was six years old, and seeing his mother support the family contributed to his laid-back, calm mentality that led to his stage name, he decided to play low-key contrast antics Method Man, Ol ‘Dirty Bastard, and RZA. It also refers to the method of Man at the end of the track “Can it be so simple? On the debut album Wu-Tang Enter Wu-Tang (36 Chambers): “Inspectah Deck, he’s still that guy that will sit idly by and watch you play yourself and all that right? And look, you sit there and know that you are lying, and he will take you to court after For he Inspectah.”
Inspectah Deck supported by relatively high profile since he was second on the grounds of a member on the album, and provided highly acclaimed poems for the single ‘Cream’, ‘Protect Ya Neck’, ‘Wu-Tang Clan Ain ‘T Nuthing that Fuck Wit ‘and’ Da Mystery Chessboxin’.
Inspectah Deck’s debut album was originally set near to the end of 1997 release, but it happened a few delays due to flooding in the basement studio of producer RZA, who has destroyed more than a hundred blows, including those made for the album.
Did you see the BET Cypha a tshe Hip-Hop Awards? In the first one they aired yesterday and after Raekwon spit, he said: “Yo stop the music Premier…yo rest in peace My Brother from the Wu, Inspectah Deck….” But people didn’t much pay attention to the rest. After that, Rae said: “His old Earth, Ms Jason Hunter…”
Well, that started rumors that Inspectah Deck was dead! NO! Deck is alive, but his mother passed away a ways back. I mentioned this when it happened. Obviously, she was a very special woman. Shout out to Inspectah Deck!
