Twitter and Google are blowing up with over the ‘Beyonce Divorce’ topic. All it is, is a Twitter rumor gone awry. According to babble.com – “BieberTeamNY, who has more than 57.000 followers, tweeted ‘#beyoncegotdivorced’ a few times, and the topic immediately took off, becoming one of the worldwide top trending topics in a matter of hours. So, relax folks, Beyonce and Jay-Z – one of the most powerful couples in entertainment are not divorcing. This is the problem with Twitter. Someone can tweet something with no truth and it gets picked up, becomes a trend, and it spreads like wildfire.

Yesterday Twitter was burning up with the trending topic Beyonce Divorce. Did the singer and her husband decide to call it quits? Was it referring to the on-again, off-again divorce of Beyonce’s parents? Was it prompted by the Thanksgiving special in which Beyonce cried over not seeing Jay-Z enough? Nope. It was a hoax by a Justin Bieber fan that unexpectedly took off.
Here’s what happened. The Biebs pranked his fans on Twitter by claiming to have cut his trademark hair for his new girlfriend. The fans wanted to prank him back, and @BieberTeamNY thought it would be funny to tell the teenager singer, who has mentioned his celebrity crush on Beyonce, that she was getting divorced.
BieberTeamNY, who has more than 57.000 followers, tweeted ‘#beyoncegotdivorced’ a few times, and the topic immediately took off, becoming one of the worldwide top trending topics in a matter of hours.
Problem was, of course, there was no truth to it. Disagreements broke out between Bieber fans and
Beyonce fans, Bieber fans and other Bieber fans, and confused newshounds trying to figure out why exactly the topic was trending.
The good news is that Beyonce, the subject of pregnancy rumors just a few months ago, and Jay-Z are still going strong, so perhaps we will get to see their offspring one of these days. Let’s hope they teach them about the potential pitfalls of Twitter.
There is a rumor going around that Beyonce is getting divorced. Well the rumor went popular on Twitter both yesterday and today. However that is what it is – Just a rumor.
How did it start? It all has to do with Justin Bieber and a fan of his. Apparently Justin Bieber pulled a little prank on his Twitter fans by saying that he has cut off his well-known hair for his new girlfriend.
So the fans wanted to do a prank in return so @BieberTeamNY decided to tell Justin Bieber that Beyonce was getting divorced. (Those who are fans of Beyonce know that Bieber has a crush on her).
Well, that is when people took it a little too seriously.
Since it was just a rumor, people wanted to know why this was a popular trending topic on Twitter. And they still do!
