Police, gun and Frankie Muniz
Phoenix police say they removed a gun from the home of actor Frankie Muniz after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
A police report says Elycia Turnbow claims Muniz pulled out a gun and held it against his head last Friday night after the two were arguing about prior relationships.
Turnbow told police that she was worried that the 25-year-old Muniz might be suicidal so she called one of his band mates to take him to a hospital.
The star of the ‘Malcom in the Middle’ TV show told police that the gun wasn’t loaded. But The Arizona Republic says police officers retrieved the gun from a downstairs closet of Muniz’s home and it was loaded.
Muniz’s publicist says the actor wasn’t arrested and wasn’t suicidal and Turnbow wasn’t assaulted.
Frankie Muniz allegedly pulled a gun out during a nuclear fight with his girlfriend … the couple went on a nice, normal date like nothing ever happened … TMZ has learned.
Multiple people close to the couple tell us the former ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ star and Elycia Turnbow spent a romantic evening at the Martini Ranch bar in Scottsdale on Saturday night and seemed “completely care free.”
The romance continued just a few days later – when Frankie organized a special Valentine’s Day dinner for the couple … and even sent out a tweet that read, “the table’s all set for Valentine’s Day dinner … I love @elyciamarie”
As TMZ first reported, cops responded to a domestic incident at Frankie’s home on Friday night – with Elycia telling police Frankie attacked her and then held a gun to his own head.
According to a police report, the 25-year-old actor-turned-race-car-driver allegedly put a loaded gun to his head, “possibly with the intent of committing suicide” in a heated quarrel with Elycia Turnbow over “prior relationships”.
Muniz (who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol) denied this saying he only grabbed the gun case. As to whether he took a nasty swipe at his publicist girlfriend, he insisted – “No, I love her too much. She is the woman I want to marry.”
A rep for the couple, who were both charged with disorderly conduct, released a statement that read -
“Frankie and Elycia had an argument a few days ago. The police were called to the residence.”
“A gun played no part in the argument and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping.”
“There were no bruises and neither left the residence. He was not suicidal. She was not assaulted.”
“They have been together since the incident; are still together and are moving forward with their lives and with their relationship.”
