Prince William and Kate Middleton Royal Wedding
Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a string of steamy encounters: in an American television movie about their romance.
The couple, played by Nico Evers-Swindell and Camilla Luddington, were seen kissing passionately in the rain, sneaking in and out of one another’s rooms at university and lying in bed together.
And in a re-enactment of the moment William watched Kate strut the catwalk at a charity fashion show, the Prince declared: “She’s hot.”
The two-hour TV movie, entitled William and Kate, charted the lives of the future King and Queen of England from the time they met at St. Andrews University.
Luddington and Evers-Swindell were seen exchanging longing glances as they were paired together to work on an art project and their relationship blossomed from there.
The movie featured key scenes from their past – including the moment Kate modelled a sheer dress at a charity fashion show and the time the couple kissed in public during a skiing holiday in Klosters.
The final scenes of the dramatisation, which aired in the United States on TV network Lifetime, showed William proposing to Kate in front of a beautiful sunset in Kenya.
Every nook and cranny along the route that Prince William and Kate Middleton will take on their wedding day is being searched by police.
As Union Jack bunting goes up on Regent Street and flags are raised across central London, elsewhere the focus is on more sinister stuff in the form of a huge anti-terrorism operation.
Police have launched one of the biggest security operations the country has ever seen (estimated to cost £20 million) to protect William and Kate and world leaders.
Drains have been lifted, the insides of lampposts scoured and even the fronts of the boxes on pedestrian crossing buttons have been removed as every inch of the wedding route is searched for explosives.
All around Westminster Abbey, along Whitehall, across Horse Guards Parade and down the Mall specialist officers have taken apart street furniture looking for any suspicious items.
The operation will continue right up to the last minute when the focus of attention will then turn on the people that have turned out to cheer the newly weds.
With so many members of the Royal Family, senior members of the Government, A-list celebrities and 50 heads of state in attendance, the wedding is believed to be a prime target for terrorists.
Metropolitan Police officers have been looking under manhole covers and broke security seals on the Mall, looking for any suspicious items, as part of an operation that will continue until the big day.
With a worldwide television audience of up to two billion, senior officers will want to avoid an incident like the attack on the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s Rolls-Royce during the tuition fees protests last year.
A Merseyside cake makers whipped up a unique tribute to Prince William and fiancee Kate Middleton.
An edible horse and carriage, complete with figures of the soon-to-be married couple, have been painstakingly made by staff at Crosby Cakes Company.
Meticulous detail has gone into the cake design, which was made to commemorate the Royal wedding on April 29.
The cake is currently on display in the window of the Crosby Road North shop.
Cake-maker Angela O’Brien said – “It took us a week to make.
“It was hard work but we enjoyed making it a lot.
“We did it when we had a bit more time in the afternoons. It is a good way to celebrate and mark the occasion.
“It has been very well received by the public while it’s been in the window.
“Children go by with their parents and they love it.”
She added – “The horses were made from Rice Krispies and marshmallows and the carriage has icing over it.
“The wheels are made of sugar paste.
“The couple will come out of the cathedral in a horse and carriage and that’s the reason why we’ve got them positioned in a carriage.”
Other decorations on display at the shop include cakes showing union flags and rice paper with the faces of the young couple on.
