Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ that the former Melrose Place star was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after ingesting a suspected dangerous mix of alcohol and prescription drugs.
TMZ reports Locklear’s sister Colleen dialed 911 out of fear the actress was in danger. A source tells RadarOnline that Colleen was worried about Heather’s state of mind. The source says Colleen “was afraid Heather was going to harm herself because of her drinking mixed with medication.”
Paramedics arrived and determined that Heather needed to be hospitalized. A hospital spokesperson later told TMZ that the actress was awake and responsive when she arrived at the facility.
Locklear recently called off her engagement to Jack Wagner. Sources tell RadarOnline: “She is distraught over her relationship with Jack. It is on and off and it has upset her lately.”
TMZ reports this isn’t the first time 911 has been called over concern Locklear had abused prescription drugs. In 2008, her doctor dialed 911 worried that she may have overdosed on her meds. The 911 operator described the incident as a ‘suicide attempt,’ but it reportedly turned out to be a false alarm.
