Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana secretly married

After Janet Jackson announced her engagement to then-boyfriend Wissam Al Mana last December, rumors quickly followed of her lavish wedding plans. But according to Entertainment Tonight – the 46-year-old pop star and her 37-year-old Qatari billionaire fiance already tied the knot “last year” in what they described as “a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony,” dispelling talks of a multimillion-dollar wedding.

Janet Jackson and billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana are officially married. In fact – they’ve been husband and wife since last year, the singer confirmed in a statement posted on her website.
The singer said the couple tied the knot in a “quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony,” not the over-the-top affair that gossip sites reported would take place. Jackson added that ”rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true.” There was speculation that Al Mana was planning to splash out millions on a lavish ceremony, even flying Jackson’s large family to Qatar aboard private jets.
Instead, Jackson explained that they’re using their money to do good for others.
“Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities” – she said.
Jackson and Al Mana ask that their “privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy.” Closing their note, they wrote: “With love, Wissam and Janet.”

Janet Jackson is married to Wissam Al Mana, and we’re pretty sure our invite got lost in the mail, because the ceremony happened last year.
“The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true” – the couple said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. “Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.”
Last year like in December, or last year like a whole year ago? Alas, no more details were forthcoming from the 46-year-old singer and her uber-wealthy Qatari husband (37).
Us Weekly reported at the end of December that the couple was engaged, suggesting plans for a lavish spring wedding. According to the New York Daily News, there had been speculation in the United Arab Emirates media in October that the two were engaged and that Jackson was planning to convert to Islam.
What’s known for sure – According to their statement Monday, their wedding gifts to each other were gifts to their favorite children’s charities. Al Mana, who’s in charge of his family’s fashion portfolios, squired Jackson to the Giorgio Armani womenswear show Monday during fashion week in Milan, Italy.
