How amazing! The youngest Braxton sister announced yesterday, March 13, that she had a “love on top,” before confirming that she’s pregnant! In fact, Tamar revealed that she’s well on her way to becoming a mother. Keep reading for all the details!
Tamar Braxton’s first child is being born into an amazing family, that’s for sure! Appearing on Good Morning America on March 13, the R&B singer and star of the reality show Braxton Family Values announced the good news that she was pregnant.
There to promote her show, Tamar surprised everyone with the news. “I have a love on top” – she said, referencing Beyonce. “I’m pregnant.”

Tamar Braxton is not only pregnant, she’s “almost there,” the reality-TV star and singer revealed Wednesday on “Good Morning America.”
(“Almost” translating to a few months left, actually, so nobody start boiling water just yet.)
“I have a love on top” – she said, referencing the Beyonce tune “Love on Top.” “I’m pregnant.”
Appearing with her sisters and “Braxton Family Values” costars Toni, Trina, Traci and Towanda, plus mom Evelyn, Tamar showed off her growing baby bump — and her smashing Alexander McQueen dress choice with Jimmy Choo heels. She also showed off the very same via Instagram.
“I feel great and greedy at the same time….” – Tamar said on “GMA.” “This is the most I’ve eaten ever.” She and her mom are eating partners now, they said.
It’ll be a first baby for 35-year-old Tamar and her music-exec husband, Vince Herbert, 43. The couple married in 2008.
And when is she due? “I don’t have that many months to go” – Tamar said. “Almost there.”
The new season of “Braxton Family Values” premieres Thursday night on We TV. The spinoff “Tamar and Vince,” which wrapped up its first season in December, has 12 episodes on the way as well, Braxton said on Twitter last fall.
Although the announcement may come as a surprise to some, the singer-songwriter hinted at motherhood last year during an interview with HuffPost Black Voices.
“Honestly, I definitely want to do that” – she admitted about becoming a mother. “And I wouldn’t have gone through the whole IVF process if I didn’t want to do that. It’s just that the hormones were so much at one time. Looking back on it, I kind of wish that I was in the right frame of mind, because I would’ve done it right then and there.”
“I just felt like after the IVF process there were some things that were very important to me that I accomplished just as a woman and as a person just to show my kids by example, not just by telling them. I never want my kids to feel like I’m just some housewife who was just kicking it with my husband, because that’s not the kind of woman that I am. If I don’t do things for myself then how am I going to show my kids? So that’s why we decided to wait.”
In addition to having a new family member in the coming months, the Braxtons are set to kick off a new season of their WEtv series, “Braxton Family Values” premiering on Mar. 14 at 9pm/et.
