Kim Kardashian and Kanye West get engaged
Let the extravagant wedding planning begin.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are now engaged, according to E! News, the network that airs Kardashian’s reality show. West popped the question Monday, Kardashian’s 33rd birthday.
The reality star and new mom confirmed the news on her Instagram account Tuesday, offering fans a close-up view of her sparkler in a photo captioned: “YES!!!”
Naturally, the “Yeezus” rapper couldn’t propose just anywhere – he rented out the stadium where the San Francisco Giants play.
Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring from Kanye West is a whopping 15 carats, but that seemingly pales in comparison to the reality star’s impressive engagement ring from ex-husband Kris Humphries.
The “Yeezus” rapper popped the question to the reality star Monday (her 33rd birthday) at AT&T Park in San Francisco with the help of a 50-piece orchestra, family, friends and the glowing 15-carat diamond engagement ring.
“Last night was truly magical!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!” Kardashian told E! News. “I get to marry my best friend!”
Kardashian eagerly posted a picture of her latest public display of wealth sitting on her finger. She gave it a simple caption that read “YES!!!” and showcased West’s illuminated “PLEEESE MARRY MEEE!!!” on a scoreboard shining in the background.
The couple have been good friends since 2007, began dating in August 2012 and has gushed over each other in the media quite a bit.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are engaged after an elaborate proposal by the rapper that involved renting out a baseball stadium and hiring a 50-piece orchestra. On her 33rd birthday, no less.
“YES!!!” Kardashian tweeted Tuesday morning along with a photo of her 15-carat diamond ring, with the scoreboard in the background reading, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!”
West popped the question (reportedly down on one knee) Monday night in San Francisco, where according to E! News he’d acquired use of AT&T Park for the evening.
Just before the proposal, he’d been at the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards in L.A., presenting a special honor to “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen, so the surprise was amplified.
With family and friends of the couple present at the home of the San Francisco Giants (but not North; the baby was tucked safely away from the night chill) the orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” and Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and West’s “Knock You Down,” and fireworks exploded into the night, E! reported.
“Wow!!!!! Am I dreaming??!?!” – sister Khloe tweeted around midnight. “Tears of JOY!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!”
Kris Jenner told E! it was “a match made in heaven,” adding: “”I am so happy for both of my kids, Kim and Kanye.”
