Bruce Beresford-Redman arrested
Former ‘Survivor’ producer Bruce Beresford-Redman has been arrested by the US Marshals and the FBI outside his Palos Verde home in LA for extradition to Mexico, according to TMZ.
The arrest is connected to the warrant that the Mexican police have issued against Redman for the murder of his wife, Monica Burgos Beresford-Redman. Redman is now in federal custody.
Reports claim that when a forensic expert dusted for evidence inside Redman’s hotel room where his wife was found dead, blood stains were discovered on the railings, on a pillar and on a sheet. Two hotel employees also allegedly said that they saw Redform ‘attempt to physically assault a woman’ which they later identified as Monica. In addition, two teenagers were supposed to have said that they heard screams made by a woman in pain coming from Redford’s room.
Bruce Beresford-Redman is no longer merely a suspect in the murder of his wife. The television producer has finally been arrested for this heinous crime. Beresford-Redman – who was detained in April after wife Monica turned up dead in Mexico, near where the couple had been vacationing – was arrested in his home outside Los Angeles yesterday. He’s in federal custody and, according to documents obtained by TMZ, will be extradited to Mexico. The tragic murder of Monica Beresford-Redman has made for tabloid fodder for months now. Monica’s body was found in a sewer at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun earlier this year. It later came out that Bruce had been having an affair. And authorities have spent the time since building a case against the former producer of Survivor. An arrest was made yesterday because Mexican police now believe they have compiled enough evidence against the alleged murderer. This includes:
1) Email confirmation of Bruce’s infidelity.
2) Forensic experts finding blood stains on a pillar in the hotel room Bruce and Monica shared, as well as on the sheets and on a railing.
3) Two teenagers in the room below Bruce’s who are on record as saying they were awakened by “screams, crying for help and extremely loud banging from the room above… it sounded like a woman in extreme distress.”
4) Marks found by authorities on Bruce’s hands, behind his ear, on his left shin and on his right ankle shortly after his wife went missing.
The federal complaint alleges a forensic expert examined Bruce’s hotel room and found blood stains on a pillar in the room, on the sheets and on a railing.
And the complaint says two teenagers in the hotel room below Bruce’s were awakened by ‘screams, crying for help and extremely loud banging from the room above … it sounded like a woman in extreme distress.’
According to the complaint, ‘The fact of BERESFORD’s affair was confirmed through emails obtained by the Mexican authorities in which BERESFORD admitted to his wife that he had been unfaithful.’
The complaint claims an employee at the hotel witnessed Bruce ‘attempt to physically assault the woman,’ whom he later identified as Monica.
And, according to the complaint, after Monica disappeared, authorities observed scratches/abrasions on Bruce’s hands, behind his ear, on his left shin and his right ankle. Bruce will be in federal court in downtown L.A. tomorrow.
