Sears is going to be open from 7 a.m. to Noon on Thanksgiving, a first for the retailer in its more than 100 years of existence.

Kmart stores open 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and will be open until 9 p.m.
Walmart Supercenter stores are open 24 hours on Thanksgiving, with many regular Walmart stores opening midnight Thanksgiving night.
Gap Inc., Banana Republic and Old Navy count themselves among the first stores to ever offer Thanksgiving hours some years ago, and they will be open again this year, with the majority of locations opening around 8 a.m.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade takes place in just a few hours on Thursday, November 25, 2010, in the streets of New York. You can Watch 84th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2010 live coverage on NBC, WGN and WGN 9. Thanksgiving Day parade will march up State Street from Congress Parkway to Randolph Street from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The United States of America will celebrate its 84th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It will feature 15 giant character balloons, 1600 cheerleaders, 27 floats, a dozen marching bands and 800 clowns. It is expected that more than 3.5 million people will witness the parade from the streets of New York.
Balloons – Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kung Fu Panda, Kaikai & Kiki by Murakami, Yes Virginia. Macy’s Balloon inflation takes place the day before the parade on 77th and 81st Streets between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. Public viewing is from 3 pm to 10 pm.

It is thought that the Native American Indians out numbered the Plymouth colonists nearly two to one on the first Thanksgiving which lasted for three days.
The Wampanoag Native American Indians shared an autumn harvest feasts with the Plymouth colonists in 1621 that is known today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations.
In the middle of the Civil War, 16th President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving Day to be a national holiday.
1) Contrary to popular belief, even though wild turkeys were around during the first Thanksgiving feast, they were not served.
2) Instead, the Native American Indians and Plymouth colonists feasted on various seafood, deer, corn, eggs, squash, spices, popcorn and squashed cranberries.
