Free Shipping Day 2010

For today only, more than 1.700 merchants are participating in Free Shipping Day. Not only do your items ship sans pesky delivery costs, they’re guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Eve.
More than half of the participating vendors offer free shipping with no minimum purchase. Some do enforce a minimum purchase amount or other criteria to have shipping costs waived. Some of the no-minimum-purchase-required merchants include L.L. Bean, the Disney Store, Barnes & Noble and more than 1.000 others. Also, certain retailers ask that you include a discount code upon checkout, so be sure to have that information ready upon submitting your order.
Some retailers have extended free shipping offers to a little later in the week, according to the Washington Post. Amazon.com allows shoppers to order by Sunday to benefit from ‘super saver shipping’and receive items in time for Christmas. The Apple Store offers free shipping and delivery before Christmas for orders placed up until Monday. For a more detailed list of stores’ order deadlines, see FreeShipping.org.

I am going to checking out Omaha Steaks, Shari’s Berries, Krups, Pottery Barn, Chef’s Resource and Kitchenaid.

Have you been procrastinating on your Christmas shopping? Wary of those last-minute shipping charges?
Help could be on the way. With just one week left before Christmas, more than 1.000 online retailers are joining forces today for the third annual Free Shipping Day.
About 1.300 retailers are offering some sort of free shipping deal, 60 percent of which will waive shipping charges on all orders, according to FreeShippingDay.org, which organized the event. The site put together a list of its top 25 merchants, which includes Barnes & Noble, Dell, Overstock.com, TomTom, and more.
Some stores will apply the free shipping offer directly to your order, while others – like Barnes & Noble – require shoppers to enter a discount code at checkout. Codes can be found on FreeShippingDay.org.
Other tech-related online stores offering free shipping include LeapFrog, Wirefly, Nikon, and Sony Styles. Others are offering some variation of free shipping. GameStop will have free shipping for orders over 75 dollars, while Nokia will offer free shipping to orders over 99 dollars.
CircuitCity.com, TigerDirect, JR.com, and CompUSA also have free shipping on select items.
